What Are The Top Priorities Of Your Company?  Without question…my employees. I have a huge responsibility to provide them with a clean, safe, and profitable place for them to work so they are able to provide for their families. We pay 100% of their health insurance which is unusual in today’s economy. I think the good work environment that I provide attracts the best and most qualified employees. Having a good, strong, and qualified workforce allows for almost everything else to fall into place. 

How Do You Hire, Motivate And Retain Employees?  When hiring an employee, we have an interview process that involves meeting with me to discuss their qualifications and background. The interview lasts between 2-3 hrs. which allows enough time for each of us to get to know one another. If the employee is a service technician, that person would also have to perform a written and hands-on test which shows me if they have the technical skills they are claiming to have. All employees must pass a background check and drug test in order to work for Hill & Hill Plumbing.

We motivate our employees by holding weekly shop meetings to discuss issues, new materials, customer service training, and safety meetings. We get them to participate in the meetings in various ways which keeps them interested and focused on the issues at hand. We retain employees by providing a good work environment; we pay 100% of their health insurance; we have a 401-K profit-sharing plan; we provide uniforms, cell phones, and many items that help the employee perform well for our clients. When they perform well, they succeed and are able to provide for their families. Many of our service techs and office personnel have been with us for years with the longest for 33 years. I think that indicates that Hill & Hill Plumbing is a great place to work!
